The Raahauge family has been in the Pheasant Hunting business
for 50 years. Terry’s dad, Linc Raahauge was the first person in
California to start a club that was open to the public. He opened a club
at Cache Slough in Dixon for the first five years. He then moved his Pheasant
Hunting Business to Suisun Marsh, where he stayed for another eight years.
While on a family vacation to Disneyland, Linc got lost on hwy. 71 in
Corona and spotted the Prado Basin. He found out through research, there
were more hunters in Southern California looking for a place to hunt at
the time than in Northern California. Within a year Linc packed up the
family and moved to Corona and opened up yet another Hunting Club. The
club remains open to this day and is run by Terry’s oldest brother,
Mike.
In the early 80”s, Linc opened up a club in Suisun on Grizzly Island.
The Club was run by his son, Kimmy and his daughter Trudy. The club was
very successful until the Dept. of Fish and Game closed it down by Eminent
Domain and used the property for something else.
Terry is the youngest son of Linc and Betty Raahauge and has kept the
legacy alive here in Northern California.
The rest is history in the making.
